Taylor Swift’s Engagement Ring

Congratulations are in order for arguably one of our favorite Hollywood couples, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce! The two announced their engagement via Instagram today and the ring of choice is so fitting in our humble opinion and has taken the internet by storm.
The Stone
The ring features an old mine brilliant-cut diamond, which means it has a squarish shape with rounded corners. Sometimes this is also referred to as an elongated cushion cut or antique cushion cut.
The diamond is estimated to weigh between 8 and 10 carats, which is totally befitting of the queen of pop. The ring is estimated to be worth around $250k to $1mil. Though depending on the quality of the stone, it could go as far as $3.5million.
The Band
The ring band is made with yellow gold (our guess is 18k). The diamond is set in a thin bezel setting, with 4 claw-shaped prongs for extra security. The band is a reverse tapered style, which isn’t something we’ve been seeing with engagement rings lately. There’s also intricate hand engraving etched onto the band, which gives it a feminine and dainty touch. The engravings really add such a unique and undeniably Taylor folklore-esque style to the ring. There are possibly also two smaller side stones on the band.
The ring is giving vintage vibes and romanticism, but still has a timeless elegance, which is Taylor in a nut-shell. Travis also had a hand in designing the ring, which is something that we’re all for at Émerah. The stone may be huge, but it’s the subtle design choices that make it special and classy. We are thrilled to see that more unique engagement ring designs are being celebrated. We also love that celebrities are opting for smaller, individual jewellers to create these special pieces, instead of off-the-shelf, bigger brands.
